Sustainability

From our Australian headquarter we are making waves to support a more sustainable industry. Anchored by our ethos to bring quality pieces, iland co. focuses on small, handcrafted batches of designs to ensure little to no wastage ends up in landfill. Each pieces are made with love and care.

We deal directly with our factories and tailors to ensure safe and sustainable conditions for our partners and make thoughtful choices in our production.

We are also working towards using more natural fibres and certified EcoVero Viscose in our garments

We continue to make strides as a small business to be mindful and present in what we can do to embrace a more sustainable future. When we have the opportunity, we always choose our planet and will continue to update you on our sustainable practices.

Our Sustainability Journey & Practices

We are actively offsetting our carbon footprint.

Carbon offsetting is a key component of our social responsibility against climate change. For most businesses, going carbon neutral cannot be done today without the use of such carbon offsets. By investing in carefully chosen offset projects, iland co. is able to neutralise its greenhouse emissions and contribute to the social and economic benefits of communities over and above emissions reduction.

Our Sustainable Practice In The Warehouse & HQ.

Here at ILAND.Co. , we strive daily to ‘practise what we preach’ in regards to sustainability in our office and warehouse. We are always looking for ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

  • At HQ, we bring lunch to work and if we buy lunch, we choose to support local businesses.
  • We choose reusable utensils, coffees cups and containers both inside the office and at home
  • We recycle what we can including paper, cardboard, glass and plastic.
  • And when we can, we carpool.
  • We will continue to improve as we learn more.

We plant one tree for every order we receive via our partners, One Tree Planted

Australia's forests range from the ancient Gondwana rainforest and tropical mangroves to extensive bush lands made up of native acacia, melaleuca and eucalyptus trees. Your orders help us fund the planting of millions of trees across Australia to recover forests affected by the 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires and restore native habitat vital for wildlife.

By planting trees in Australia, we’re collectively helping create habitat corridors for koalas in New South Wales and Victoria, enhancing biodiversity in Western Australia, and promoting sustainable and regenerative agriculture practices with landowners.

The Shipping Satchels we use for all our domestic and international orders are sent in a COMPOST pac.

These post bags are made from 100% biodegradable and compostable materials: corn starch, PLA (synthesised from corn), and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate). Each bag can be composted at home by simply removing the address and express label and placing it in your home food scrap bin, green waste bin, or worm farm.
